Charles Simco enjoys a good book, a fine wine and - when he really wants to relax - shakes up the neighbours with a few chords on his electric guitar.
Charles brings this eclectic approach to the business of law. He is a litigator, with an emphasis on construction litigation, surety and professional liability litigation and employment law. In over 20 years of practising law, Charles has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario and has appeared before several tribunals and inquests. The depth and breadth of his experience allows Charles to guide clients through the most technical of construction disputes, and to provide practical advice and direction on employment law issues .
Charles’ clients include insurers, institutional and private owners, contractors, design consultants, lawyers and bonding companies. His advice to these clients is never limited to processing a legal action; with the expense and complexity of much litigation today, particularly in the construction industry, Charles is able to provide valuable insight into how to manage, and even prevent, lengthy legal battles.
Charles has been recognised as an expert in the practice of Construction law and professional liability, by L’Expert. Charles’ expertise has also been recognized by various legal and construction organizations, such as the Ontario Bar Association, the Surety Association of Canada, the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture, and the Ontario Real Estate Association, all of which have invited Charles to speak on a variety of topics relating to construction and professional liability issues.
