When he is not trotting around the globe, playing tennis or vigorously gardening in his backyard, Peter C. Williams is a litigator ready on a moment's notice to advocate for his client's interests. Peter initially commenced his legal training at University of London (U.K.) where he obtained his first LLB. Soon after, however, foreign lands called him and he embarked on an extended journey to Australia. His travels eventually brought him to Toronto, where he obtained a second LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School. Peter joined Shibley Righton as an articling student in 1975, and has been with the firm ever since. Currently one of the firm’’s senior partners, Peter maintains his lively spirit by taking regular hikes in the Oak Ridges Moraine, playing weekly tennis games and attending the various philosophy and classical history seminars and discussion groups which peak his interest. Peter's litigation practice involves working extensively for public sector clients, including municipalities, boards of education, and various charities and companies in the general corporate and commercial area. Over the last 25 years, Peter has also acted for an array of large insurance companies and has dealt with all aspects of personal injury litigation. Peter has completed advanced courses in mediation and has facilitated numerous mediation situations for his clients. He has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario as well as various professional disciplinary bodies in the Province. Peter is married and has two sons, one of whom practices law in New York City and the other in Toronto
