Sean completed his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Toronto. He was called to the bar in 1997. His litigation practice is broadly based: it includes the fields of commercial, estate, tax, and tort litigation. Sean has also spent time in the criminal courts as a part-time Crown prosecutor.
Sean has experience carrying his own files, and assisting senior counsel on bigger cases. He has acted for a wide range of clients, from individuals, to municipalities and public and private companies. Because he practiced in Hamilton, Ontario, before moving to Toronto, Sean is familiar with the problems, and legal systems, in smaller towns as well as in bigger cities.
Sean is also active in the legal community. From 2000 to 2002, Sean was the Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division and sat on the Ontario Bar Association’s executive. Before then he contributed to, and edited, the YLD Newsletter. Sean remains involved with the Ontario Bar Association through his continuing participation in ‘Law Day’, which commemorates the enactment of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Sean has varied interests outside the practice of law. He has travelled widely through Central and South America, and Eastern and Western Europe. He runs and cooks (though not at the same time), and is gradually improving his forehand in tennis.
