On April 3, 2023, the Government of Ontario announced Bill 91, Less Red Tape, Stronger Economy Act, 2023. The bill, along with regulatory changes, will make of some of the temporary measures implemented during the pandemic permanent, including those that facilitated online meetings.


Some of the changes include:


  • Allowing condominiums to hold meetings entirely online or hybrid (online and in-person at the same time) without a by-law;

  • Allowing directors to hold board meetings remotely, without requiring consent from all the directors; and 

  • Allowing condominiums to email any owner who has provided their address in writing and who has not opted out of receiving email.
