Patrick Nelson

Patrick Nelson is an associate at Shibley Righton LLP and works exclusively with the Condominium Law Group. He articled with the firm and was called to the bar in 2020.

Patrick attended the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude and on the Dean’s Honour List. While at law school, Patrick was a Dean’s Research and Writing Fellow, where he completed a substantial research project on aeronautical regulations and was a teaching assistant for the first-year Principles of Legal Research course.

In addition, Patrick was a research assistant, coached the Arnup Cup Trial Moot, and interned with the Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC). For the latter, Patrick co-authored CIPPIC’s submissions to the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology as part of the 2018 Statutory Review of the Copyright Act.

Before law school, Patrick worked as a law clerk for a busy Toronto immigration firm for many years. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Economics and History from the University of Toronto in 2010.

Outside of law, Patrick enjoys traveling, high-intensity interval training, and assembling computer systems.
